Chafetz squeezed out of Parks board

Former Mayor Seth Chafetz lost his bid for reappointment to the Parks & Recreation Board Monday night. Chafetz, who was appointed soon after his ouster from the Commission last year, was one of three applicants for two positions on the board Monday night.

All three applicants were nominated, but newcomer Terry Gates and incumbent John Meehan garnered more support from the Commission.

Chafetz was chairman of the board. A replacement will be elected at the board's next meeting.
