Birmingham voters took back their town on Nov. 4, 2003.

Now it's time to express a clear vision of our future.

What would you like to see?

* Appointment of a town architect or design panel to review public projects for aesthetics.

* The return of the 2016 Plan.

* A review of the residential zoning ordinance. The new commission should demonstrate they can do a better job of preserving and enhancing our neighborhoods than the Antis ever could.

* A comprehensive plan for the area surrounding the former Jacobson's mens store. The plan must take into account the river and include green space where now we have just parking.

* Settlement of the sewer lateral question.

* A revision of the Ethics Ordinance.

* Plans for the Barnum project.

* A better plan for Booth Park.

* A great plan for Shain Park that replaces the parking lot with green space while retaining a significant percentage of the parking.

* A plan for the intersection of Woodward and Bowers.

* Harmon Street improvement.

* A plan for improving other unimproved streets that doesn't put the onus on residents to petition for and design their own improvements.

* Present a plan to SBC for improving their central office eyesore across from City Hall.

* A new sculpture for the front plaza at City Hall. Gary Kulak, where are you when we really need you!?

* Leaf pickup for ALL residents.

* Improve the city website and Quarterly.

* Consider -- again -- hiring a qualified retail recruiter.
